The IVCIL provides community education to the general public. The IVCIL provides frequent trainings dealing with such issues as:
- The Americans with Disabilities Act
- The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
- Advocacy
- Employment
- Self-determination
- Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Personal Budgeting
- and more
Disability Awareness
Upon request, the IVCIL conducts disability awareness presentations to:
- Service clubs
- Social service agencies
- Businesses
- Schools
- Other entities

This presentation is designed to assist persons without disabilities to feel comfortable interacting with persons with disabilities.
The disability awareness presentation is designed to assist persons without disabilities to understand different types of disabilities, how they affect individuals, their abilities, and common misconceptions. This presentation is annually presented to schools in our Youth Services program.
Equipment Loan Closet
The IVCIL has a variety of medical equipment and assistive devices available for use by persons with disabilities. Wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches, commodes, shower benches, and other supplies are available for use free of charge to individuals who would benefit.
Resource Library
IVCIL offers a resource library so that people with disabilities and their families have access to information to learn more about their disabilities, disability rights, and disability-related issues.
Available are books, DVD’s and the use of the internet.
